Mobile Health Care Units in Remote Areas
Since many years, Ishwar had a skin disease called Chronic Dermatitis. Although, Contact Dermatitis amongst farmers are quite usual, but, in Ishwar’s case it was a chronic fungal and allergic problem due to his frequent contact with mud and cow-dung etc.
Ishwar tried various forms of treatments to cure his ailment, ranging from visiting the government hospital to applying traditional cures. Some of the medicines worked for him, but only to give temporary relief because owing to financial constraints, he could not afford making the trips to the hospital and buying medicines regularly. A few years back, while lamenting to his friends about his problems, he got to know about Adani Foundation’s Mobile Health Care Unit. Upon finding out about the the health care van in his village, he decided to approach it.
“As soon as I discovered that the health care van regularly visits my village, has a good doctor accompanying it, and provides medicines free of cost, I decided to approach them. I received a good medical facility coming right to my village, medicines which didn’t cost anything, and sound advice from the doctor regarding preventive care, hygiene, and diet. Today, I am cured of Chronic Dermatitis.”- Ishwar Dutt says.
