In the continuing journey of Growth with Goodness, businesses have to take the people and the community along. Through our CSR activities Adani Foundation perceives the real needs and aspirations of people and lends them a helping hand to realise those aspirations. While our communities include larger neighbourhoods of business sites and beyond, Adani Foundation telescopes to address the prevalent national concerns such as Malnourishment, Swachhata, Healthy Ecosystem Requirements and Skill Development.

This newsletter showcases the Sustainable Livelihood Development activities in Tirora, where we engage with farmers living in the areas neighbouring our Power Plant, who constitute 80% of the population living here. Farmers here are highly dependent on the monsoons for good yield and paddy is the main crop. Majority of this cultivation is done in the Kharif season and the rest of the year, the farmers do not have opportunities of income generation and livelihood.


Over the years, we have helped farmers increase their yield through the introduction of techniques like Systematic Rice Intensification, the women have done fairly well in mushroom cultivation, lac bangle making and rolling incense sticks thus realising the entrepreneurial capabilities of the women in the area. The acceptance of the community is necessary for the success of our endeavours. I want to congratulate the team in Tirora for the touching stories of empowerment and the successes that are becoming visible on the ground.

I had the good fortune of being a part of the recent Employee Volunteering Programme where Adani Group employees came forward to adopt the education of 704 children of migrant labourers in Mundra. It was heartening to see the overwhelming response of members of Adani Parivar. I fervently urge our team members all across the nation to engage all Adani Parivar members in EVP and help them recognise where much more can and should be done.

In this journey no success is insignificant. Through every Issue of this newsletter, we celebrate our achievements and learn from each other’s experiences. This drives our team members to imagine sharper, plan and execute better to improve lives of people in the arena where we engage them collaboratively.
