Support to Government Schools
Adani Foundation is working towards improving the quality of education in Government schools by taking up various initiatives like Education Volunteers, Meena Communicative Initiatives with guidance from UNICEF, Activities to promote girl child education, Educational tours like Project Udaan and Teachers’ training and motivational programs. Foundation is also carrying out supportive activities like Coaching for dropout’s students and supporting events like Khel Mahakumbh/Sports Competitions, Maths/Science Fairs, National Days, World Environment Day, Talent Hunt programs etc.
Adani Foundation is also supporting in creation of Reading Corners and Health corners for the benefit of the government school students along with Multi-Grade, Multi-Level Teaching and Learning Material Kit and support in form of Laboratory Equipment provision, School Uniforms & Bags distribution during enrolment drives, bicycles to girl students and Science Kits & Drawing Kits provision for students.
Adani Foundation strongly believes that children with special talent or aptitude should be provided with opportunities to proceed at a faster pace, by making good quality education available to them, irrespective of their capacity to pay for it. The Navodaya Vidyalaya is a unique experiment in the annals of school education in India and elsewhere. Its significance lies in the selection of talented rural children as the target group and the attempt to provide them with quality education comparable to the best in a residential school system. Hence, the prime objective of Adani Foundation in supporting the children of Navodaya School at Tiroda, Maharashtra has always been focusing on facilitating quality modern education to the talented children predominantly from the rural areas, regardless of their family’s socio economic conditions and ensuring that all potential students get quality education through coaching.
In the year 2014-15, E-Learning software was installed in twenty pilot schools of Tiroda, Maharashtra by Adani Foundation. The e-learning which is a complete package of software and hardware has been proven as an efficient learning tool for teachers as well as students. During the impact assessment of the five units installed, it was found that students liked the e-learning programme and found it very useful. They also shared that their learning abilities have increased considerably which was proven by the increased marks in the subjects year by year.
Supporting the rural children
Children are the future of nation, the foundation on which a strong, vibrant and dynamic India shall be built. And to encourage them to attend school, Adani Foundation has distributed 850 school bags and water bottles as a part of Project ‘Muskaan’, spreading smiles and seeding hopes at a remote town of Kamuthi, Tamil Nadu.
