    Rajasthan CSR award bagged by Kawai team

    “It is a matter of great pride for #TeamKawai to share with you all that Adani Foundation, Kawai has been conferred upon with an award in the category of “Healthcare Infrastructure Development”, for the best CSR Rural Infrastructure project in Rajasthan. The award is a recognition towards Adani Foundation’s efforts in construction of Outdoor Patient Department (OPD) wing at Baran District Hospital, Rajasthan. The award was presented to Unit CSR head Shri Gopal Deora and Station Head, Shri Kanti Biswas , Kawai on 6th February, 2018, at Grant CSR Summit 2018 organized by Department of Industries, Government of Rajasthan in the august presence of Shri. Rajpal Singh Shekhawat, Hon. Minister, Industries, and Commissioner Industries & Secretary CSR, Govt. of Rajasthan.”

    GAIMS award

    Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences-GKG Hospital, Bhuj, recently received an award from National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Gujarat Centre, for allocating the highest number of affiliated blood storage centres. The award was presented by Additional Project Director Gujarat State Aids Control Society ,estd. by department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Gujarat. Shri Khush Kumar, blood bank officer received the award on behalf of the hospital.

    CII - ITC Sustainability Award 2017

    Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd., bags the prestigious “CII –ITC Sustainability Award 2017” in “Excellence in Sustainable business” category. The award was conferred for significant CSR achievements in Mundra region. Shri C K Mishra, Secretary Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change presented the award to Ms Pankti Shah, Unit CSR Head - Adani Foundation, Mundra.

    Adani Foundation Chairperson Dr. Priti Adani visits Kalinga Institute

    In one of her recent visits to Odisha capital on December 20, 2016, Chairperson, Adani Foundation, Dr. Priti G. Adani, who is also the Chairperson of the Governing Body of Adani- Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) Residential School, visited KISS, and addressed a congregation of ten thousands (10,000) girls in its first governing body meeting. In one of our pursuits towards spreading the light of the education to the lesser privileged students, Adani Foundation has signed an MoU with the renowned and illustrious KISS to set up a branch of the institute in the tribal populated Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. The Foundation would be supporting KISS in setting up state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities benefitting the tribal children of Mayurbhanj.

    Making 3,00,000 youths Saksham for Nation Building

    Skill development is integral to nation-building. Taking this thought further, Adani Group has signed a MoU with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to train 300,000 youth across the country, by 2022. To be spearheaded by the Adani Skill Development Centre (ASDC) in partnership with the NSDC, the initiative- Project Saksham- is the brainchild of Adani Foundation, the CSR & sustainability arm of Adani Group. In yet another recent move, the Project has taken a step ahead by signing a MoU at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit held recently at Gandhinagar. The MoU outlines establishing two state of the art Skill Development Centres in the Hazira and Mundra region of Gujarat. Post inaugurating two centres at Tiroda (Maharashtra) & Surguja (Chhattisgarh), Project Saksham has also expanded its wings in Parsa, Chhattisgarh for training women on tailoring; and to Ernakulum, Kerala for training youths of the region on Gas Technician with support from IOAGPL (Indian Oil Adani Gas Pvt. Ltd.)

    Mission Swachhagraha Gains Momentum; goes National

    Swachhagraha, the movement to create a “Culture of Cleanliness”, has scaled up its reach to more than 5 states of the nation, creating brigade of Swachhagrahis across places. In yet another recent activity, an endeavour was taken up nationally to reinforce the importance of the sweepers and toilet cleaners in our society. Emphasising on making the “kachhrawala” the “safaiwala” an activity namely, safai ke sitare (Selfie with stars of cleanliness) was introduced. Apart from the national participation, the activity was also overwhelmingly organized at Rajkot in association with the Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC). Along with the Municipal Commissioner, Shri Bachhanidhi Pani, the activity witnessed overwhelming participation form the entire city and its vicinity. Furthermore, the swachhagrahis also reached to the remote villages of Tiroda region of Maharashtra and commenced a rally for inspection of the toilets in the localities, followed by awareness programmes on sanitation & cleanliness for the villagers. Taking the momentum ahead, the mission- Swachhagraha was also recently introduced to the delegates of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit to ensure that the appeal of creating a culture of cleanliness reaches out to as many people as possible and incite them to join our movement.     Kayakalp Award to the Adani Foundation renovated Hospital, Tiroda, Maharashtra

    In its relentless endeavour to work towards ensuring "Health for All", Adani Foundation has added another feather in its cap. The Foundation’s contribution towards renovating and adding the much-needed facilities in the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) of Tiroda, Maharashtra under Kayakalp Yojana has been selected for the state category Kayakalp Award of the Govt. of India. The upgraded and better equipped Tiroda Hospital is now able to give better health services to the people of the region.

    1760 patients treated at Godda, Jharkhand Mega Health Camp

    The recently held mega three day health check-up camp at Godda, Jharkhand, reached out to more than 1760 patients from 26 villages of the region. More than 850 women and 900 men attended at the camp. Expert doctors of various faculty i.e. general physicians, child, women, physiotherapy and dental medicine were present and apart from health check-up, medicines were also distributed, free of cost. Further, ambulance facilities were provided for facilitating commutation to the remote area populace.

    Mega Medical Camp organised at Dahej, Gujarat

    Adani Foundation at Dahej (Gujarat) recently organized a Mega Medical Camp at their Primary Health Center (PHC) to cater to the rural populace of the surrounding villages of the Adani Petronet (Dahej) Port Private Limited (APDPPL). Qualified team of 09 doctors from Bharuch volunteered to provide their services during the camp. These specialist doctors’ teams with the help of Mobile Health Care Units, Sanginis of our SuPoshan project and Aasha workers from different villages, reached out to around 400 patients of the region, of which 90% were women beneficiaries.

    Project Udaan takes off at Odisha & Maharashtra

    Consequent to the recent expansion of Project Udaan in Rajasthan last month, the project has been launched at Hazira (Gujarat); Tiroda (Maharashtra) & Dhamra (Odisha). The project is already running successfully in Mundra (Gujarat), Kawai (Rajasthan) and Udupi (Karnataka). Starting 2010, Project Udaan has already reached out to almost 1.6 lacs students coming from various schools/colleges. Under this project, an exposure tour is organized where in students are given a chance to visit the Adani business at the various locations. The major objective behind organizing such trips is to encourage young minds to develop an interest in all sorts of enterprises, and to encourage them to dream big in life.

    Kalinga Institute inks MoU with Adani Foundation

    Adani Foundation has recently signed a MoU with Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), to set up a branch of the institute in the tribal populated Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. The Foundation would be supporting KISS in setting up state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities benefitting the tribal children of Mayurbhanj. The branch will become operational from the next academic year. This facility will provide the under privileged tribal students an opportunity to avail the best of the education. KISS is the largest tribal institute of its kind to provide KG to PG education along with free food and residential facilities to more than 25000 tribal children of Odisha and the neighboring states.

    Making our Youth Saksham

    A computer training center under Project Saksham was launched at Ranganiya, Jharkhand, on October 21, 2016 with an aim to provide skill development opportunities for upscaling the rural youth skills. The youths of Ranganiya village have also taken up the responsibility for the management and monitoring of the center under the supervision of Adani Foundation. The Foundation has also distributed football uniform and kits to 15 team members of Ranganiya Village football team.

    INDYWOOD CSR Awards 2016 to Adani Foundation

    Adani Foundation has been honoured with the coveted INDYWOOD CSR Excellence Awards 2016. On behalf of Adani Foundation, Shri Sanjeev Ranjan (Head, Operations), received the award from the renowned film-maker Shri Shyam Benegal, in a glittering ceremony held at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad on September 26, 2016, as part of the Indywood Film Carnival. The Carnival was organized by Indywood and Govt. of Telangana State.

    First Batch of Vocational Training Center, Surguja, Placed

    The recently inaugurated Vocational Training Center (VTC) at Udaypur block, Chhattisgarh, has been established to equip the local youths, preferably from the peripheral villages of Parsa Coal Mining site, with the skills necessary for making them employable and also facilitating them to get placed in various industries. The training trades presently introduced at the VTC are Sewing Machine Operator (SMO) for girls and Fitter trade for the boys. In one the current events, the first batch of 30 trained girls from the rural areas of the peripheral villages of Parsa and other parts of Surguja district post completing their sewing training successfully, have been placed at a renowned garment factory in Chennai. Embarking on their new journey of professional life, the girls have left for Chennai on September 24, 2016.

    Samanvay: Defining Social Responsibility in the Perspective of Development

    A one day seminar, Samanvay, was organized to define social responsibility in the perspective of development, on September 20, 2016 at Adani House, Mundra, Kutch, Gujarat. The seminar was attended by representatives of various voluntary organizations and leaders from different CSR societies. Officials from more than 35 organizations, namely, Agakhan Rural Support Programme; Kutch Navnirman Abhiyan; Vivekanand Research & Training Institute (VRTI); Navchetan Andhjan Mandal; Welspun Limited; Coastal Gujarat Power Limited; Ashapura group of industries, Sarv Seva Sangh; Kutch Mahila Vikas Sangathan (KMVS); Arid Community & Technology; SETU; Sahjeevan Trust; Veerayatan; Yusuf Meher Ali Centre (YMC) etc., enthusiastically participated in the seminar. The chief guest of the seminar was Shri Apurva Oza (CEO, Agakhan Rural Support Programme). The seminar laid emphasis on the idea that CSR activities should be planned out and implemented with an objective to create a path of sustainable development.

    Adani Foundation Lays Concrete Road at Adamar, Karnataka

    Adani Foundation at Udupi, Karnataka, has become an example for how an organization can spur growth all around and bring positive changes in the lives of people. The Foundation in the project catchment of Adani Udupi Power Corporation Limited at Udupi, till date, has not only installed street lights and set up RO plants for providing safe drinking water; but, it has continued to play a key role in transforming the rural infrastructure landscape of the area. Apart from regular interventions in the segment to facilitate education, health and livelihood of the locals, the Foundation has also facilitated construction of buildings for the panchayats in seven villages of the area. Extending services to the mankind, the Foundation has recently developed a 300 metres concrete road for the convenience of the local people at Adamar, Karnataka. The road was inaugurated on September 17, 2016 by Mr. Aruna Kumar, President of Tenka Grama Panchayat and Mr. Kishore Alva, Joint President of Adani UPCL.

    This Rakshabandhan, BLACK indeed turned Colourful!

    These extremely talented blind girls from Andh Kanya Prakash Gruh could not see, but felt our support and compassion. During the recently conducted Rakshabandhan cum Sale at Mundra, the members of Adani Pariwar have shown incredible compassion and generosity. The overwhelming contribution and sale of rakhis resulting in a whopping collection of Rs. 1,58,100/-, is a testimony to the love and respect that Adani Group has extended to these differently abled girls. Our unstinting support to their unmatched talent and skills have championed a cause and brought colours into their lives. This Rakshabandhan, these Rakhis truly strengthened a bond of humanity.

    Project Unnayan- Ensuring Alternative Livelihood for Women

    Launched on January 26, 2016, Project Unnayan aims to facilitate rural women residing in the peripheral villages of Para Kente, Chhattisgarh, with skill development training and thereby, ensuring alternative livelihood avenues for them. In pursuance of this objective, during April 2016, Adani Foundation organized 30 members of 3 Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) from Parsa and Salhi villages to undergo a skill development training on tailoring & stitching under Project Unnayan; and then start their own small apparel enterprises for commercial production of school uniforms and women apparels. We are extremely delighted to share that out of the 30 trained women, 16 women SHG members have emerged as skilled entrepreneurs who began their own enterprise by conducting an exhibition of their stitched items on July 20, 2016 at the Adani Foundation run Vocational Training Centre (VTC) in the Parsa mines site. It is further interesting to note that in their maiden exhibition, the women have sold items worth Rs. 5000/- in a day. Indeed, there is no tool for development more effective than the empowerment of women!

    Adani Act Formally Launches Swachhagraha

    With a vision to create culture of cleanliness amongst all of us, Adani Act formally launched Swachhagraha in Ahmedabad & Mundra during July, 2016. The project has been rolled out in 6 cities of Gujarat in association with Centre for Environment Education (CEE) as its knowledge & implementation partner. An official poster of Swachhagraha was unveiled by Chairperson, Adani Foundation, Dr. Priti G. Adani in presence of Trustee, Adani Foundation, Smt. Shilin R. Adani; Director, CEE, Shri Kartikeya Sarabhai; DEO, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Shri Navneet Mehta and Executive Director, Adani Foundation, Shri P.N. Roy Chowdhury, during the official launch event on July 22, 2016 at the premise of Adani Vidya Mandir, Ahmedabad. The launch event at Mundra and Ahmedabad was followed by addresses and blessings from all the dignitaries sitting on the dais, who, unanimously supported the cause and expressed their urge to change the face of the country through Swachhagraha.     Project Annapurna launched at Parsa, Chhattisgarh

    With an objective of promoting vegetable cultivation in farms, Adani Foundation and Adani Enterprises Ltd. has launched an ambitious Project Annapurna with about 100 farmers 7 Farmers’ Club of 5 villages at Parsa (Chhattisgrah) – Salhi, Parsa, Basan, Ghatbarra and Hariharpur. The project, launched on June 30, 2016, aims at sustainable livelihood of the farmers by facilitating them to cultivate vegetables in about 20 acres of land.

    Go-Red, Blood Donation Drive, 24th June, 2016

    Led by Chairman Shri Gautam Adani, the Adani Group, in association with the Indian Red Cross Society, organized a National Blood Donation Drive on June 24, 2016. The Chairman commenced the drive by donating blood for the noble cause. The donation drive turned out to be a phenomenal success as the employees enthusiastically donated a whopping 9655 units of blood in a single day.

    Waste Management Project Begins at Vizhinjam

    Taking another meaningful step towards the cause of Sanitation & Solid Waste Management (SWM), an ambitious project has been launched by Adani Foundation in five selected wards of Trivandrum - Kerala. A formal MoU has been signed between the Foundation and Trivandrum Corporation in this regard on June 24, 2016. This program is launched on a pilot basis wherein works on SWM along with sanitation drives will be conducted by the Foundation whereas; Trivandrum Corporation will undertake the management of Sanitation & Aero-bins.

    Green Warriors of Adani Vidya Mandir, Ahmedabad

    Inspired by our nation's concern for climate change, students of Adani Vidya Mandir took out a "Save Environment Rally" on June 14, 2016, to sensitize people about the importance of planting trees. Our students distributed around 300 saplings and requested people to plant and nurture the saplings so as to create a clean and healthy environment. With monsoon just around the corner, this was the most opportune time to plant trees, as the probability of survival and growth of these plants increases with due nourishment that they get through rains.

    Plantation for a Greener Coast

    Heeding to the call of Minister of State for Environment and Forests, Shri Prakash Javadekar to plant more trees and create one's own oxygen bank on the occasion of World Environment Day, 15800 trees were planted by Adani employees and locals in all port and SEZ locations of the Group. The plantation drive was carried out on the theme of "a greener planet for a better tomorrow", celebrating the World Environment Day on June 5, 2016.

    Adani Foundation Begins Vocational Training Centre at Surguja

    Continuing on its mission to ensure sustainable livelihood in every part of the country, Adani Foundation has recently started a Vocational Training Centre (VTC) at Udaypur, Surguja (Chhattisgarh). The Centre was recently inaugurated on June 15, 2016, in presence Government Officials, representatives of PRIs and local community. Implemented in association with Gram Tarang, the Centre has a capacity to train 500 youths per year. Skill-trainings in the fields related to Sewing Machine Operator, Fitters, Welders, Electricians, Hospitality trades etc. will be made available for the youths of the region.

    SuPoshan- Support Program on Sustaining Health and Nutrition

    Giving further impetus to SuPoshan, the ambitious project on Malnutrition and Anemia reduction, a Training of Trainers for 21 participants from 9 project locations was held at AMDC, Ahmedabad from May 23 to 26, 2016. The training covered subjects of project information, technical sessions on malnutrition & anaemia, and implementation guidelines. SuPoshan aims to reduce malnutrition amongst children by 95% and anaemia amongst adolescent girls & women by 70% in project villages during next three years.

    Hon'ble CM, Rajasthan Lays Foundation Stone at Baran Hospital

    Adani Foundation was honoured to have Hon'ble CM of Rajasthan Smt. Vasundhara Raje at its Kawai site in Rajasthan on April 21, 2016. The CM laid the foundation stone for Baran Hospital's OPD block, the Nursing College, Baran & its Hostel building. The complete redevelopment work of the Baran Hospital has been taken up by Adani Foundation. Smt. Raje, during her field visit at Antana hugely appreciated the pond deepening works of the Foundation in the region. While taking stock of things at Antana, Smt. Raje contributed in the Shramdan as she walked-through the Model Talab works of the Foundation in the village. She also acknowledged the water conservation activities of the Foundation in the Kawai area. The CM was gracious to take out time to give a rousing address to all those who had gathered to hear her.

    Adani Public School Students Excel in National Level Finance Olympiad

    Three students of our Adani Public School, Mundra, namely - Master Aditya Gaurav of Class IX; Master Tej Mehta of Class X; and Miss Sriramya Mulla of Class XI, participated and excelled in the National Level Finance Olympiad conducted by BSE India Ltd. at Mumbai on April 8, 2016. They grabbed 3rd & 2nd positions in the competition and received cash prizes worth a total of Rs. 28,000/-. Adani Public School at Mundra is an English medium co-educational school managed and owned by Adani Foundation.

    Adani Foundation Felicitated by Indian Red Cross Society

    On March 19, 2016, Indian Red Cross Society felicitated Adani Foundation in recognition of its commendable efforts & dedication towards Voluntary Blood Donation in the corporate category. On behalf of Adani Parivaar the Chief Coordinator of Adani Foundation - Shri A. Nath received the award from Hon'ble Governor shree of Gujarat, Shri O.P. Kohli, in a function organized at Raj Bhawan. A pan-India blood donation drive was organized by Adani Act on June 24, 2015 and a whopping total of 7747 units of blood were donated by Adani Group employees across locations.

    Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of Adani Vidya Mandir at Parsa Kente, Chhattisgarh

    Chairperson, Adani Foundation, Dr. Priti Adani lays the foundation stone of Adani Vidya Mandir school building at Parsa Kente, Chattisgarh, on February 7, 2016. The school will hold smart classes and is set to provide all the facilities that students in bigger city schools have access to. This is a significant step towards providing quality education to children in the region.

    RakshabandhanAhmedabad

    Black is the new rainbow. Andh Kanya Prakash Gruh proved the same with their colorful Rakhis. The differently abled girls of AKPG felt the support and compassion of the Adani Pariwar.

    The Foundation facilitated the exhibition cum sale of the Rakhis made by these girls during August 17-19, 2015 at three different venues across Ahmedabad. These girls didn’t have any color in their lives but brought the bond of colorful Rakis in our lives.

    The sale of 5100 Rakhis is testimony to our commitment to ACT for their future.

    Adani Enterprises Ltd has been bestowed the prestigious “Energy & Environment Foundation Global CSR Award 2016” in the platinum category, on February 17, 2016 at the 6th World PetroCoal Congress- 2016 in New Delhi. AEL was awarded for outstanding achievement in implementing CSR programs for strengthening core business with social commitment.     Master Neel Patel and Ms. Foram Dabhi of Adani Vidya Mandir (AVM), Ahmedabad, Gujarat, were conferred with the coveted Sardar Patel & Jaydeepsinh Baria Junior Awards by the Govt. of Gujarat on February 15, 2016, for their feats in Choi-kwang-do at the National Sports Meet in Chhattisgarh.     First-ever CSR Conclave by Adani Foundation

    January 2016 witnessed the first ever CSR Conlave conducted by Adani Foundation with an objective to steer discourses and discussions in shaping the rest of the year with innovative & effective ideas in place. Inaugurated by Chairman- Adani Group, Shri Gautam Adani, the conclave was a confluence of all our site team members across 11 states of the nation. The idea was to learn and exchange experiences about different projects being implemented at different locations in different socio-economic contexts. Eminent speakers like Mr. Kartikeya Sarabhai (CEE), Ms. Saba Mebrahtu (UNICEF) and Prof. Anil Kane, enlightened the teams on subjects like business sustainability, malnutrition in India and renewable energy situation in the world, respectively.

    Brands Academy Excellence Award 2015 to Adani Vidya Mandir, Ahmedabad

    Adani Vidya Mandir, Ahmedabad, was bestowed with Brands Academy Excellence Award 2015 for being the “Most Promising CBSE School in Ahmedabad”. While providing free of cost quality education including transportation, uniform, textbooks, notebooks, breakfast, lunch and refreshments to around 1600 meritorious children from economically weaker section of the society, Adani Vidya Mandir is presently operational at Ahmedabad & Bhadreshwar in Gujarat and Surguja in Chhattisgarh.
